Meet the Concept Music Agency!

A few weeks ago Paul from Concept Music Agency commissioned me to shoot some head shots for him and we got chatting about his fab company - the Concept Music Agency. It sounded really interesting so I asked if he'd like to feature on our 'meet the supplier' section of the blog and I'm delighted to say he said yes! Here is what he had to say .....





Tell us a bit about yourself and your company ..
We are Concept Music Agency, and we provide musical instrumental lesson for all instruments of the orchestra as well as Rock and Pop instruments. We also provide entertainers for all occasions. Paul Francis and Catherine Walker who are both professional musicians and teachers with several years experience in a variety of musical and educational settings run the agency.


What is your favourite thing about our job? ..
The favorite thing about the job is the sense of achievement that students get as they develop their musical skills and often grow in confidence as a result. The round of applause after a concert or gig is also pretty addictive.


Who or what inspires you? ..
Students inspire us to improve as an agency and as teachers and performers.


Tell us how a typical day would go for you ..
A Typical day generally involves rehearsals for concerts or working with students of all ages in a variety of musical styles. That’s a good thing as far as Concept Music goes everyday is just that little bit different, because everyday we are working with and meeting different people.


If you could teach or play for a famous person, who would it be? ..
I’d give Little Mix singing lessons


How does your service work? ..
Quite simple really, we provide you with a graduate level teacher for the instrument of your choice. That teacher will come to you to provide the lessons and we invoice you for the lessons. For the entertainment side of the business, you just tell us what kind of performer/s you require and we get it for you. From a solo singer to a full Big Band we can provide the right entertainment to get your special occasion swinging.


What timescales do you work to? ..
We are very flexible regarding timescales, and we like to work with our customers to make sure things are right for them. Just give us a call and I pretty sure we will be able to help.


What sets you apart from others? ..
We provide the full range of possible instruments to learn and have only experienced graduate level teachers, who provide a professional, structured yet fun-learning experience in your own home at your convenience. We also have a large network of performers and so feel confident we can meet your needs whatever they are.


Have you had any unusual requests? ..
Not many unusual requests, apart from the selection of music that some people choose for their special occasion. One couple chose to include the theme from Star Wars and Star Trek in the musical program for their wedding. That was a great gig as “the force” was with us on that one!


Do you have a favourite piece of music or instrument? ..
As far as favorite pieces of music goes it’s usually the one that we are currently working on. Catherine has a classical background whereas Paul has a Rock ‘n’ Pop background .For a favorite instrument Paul would definitely say the drums and Piano. For Catherine it would be the violin.
